Lever's Histopathology of the Skin, 11/e > Surgical Pathology

Lever's Histopathology of the Skin, first published in 1949, is a classic work that has been used by dermatopathologists, pathologists, and dermatologists in their own training, in their current practices, and in the training of students. The organization used in the book is based on Walter Lever's original scheme, which is centered on general attributes of the diseases including pathophysiological and etiological considerations. Considering the comprehensive nature of the book, this structure is more efficient than a pattern approach since related entities are discussed in juxtaposition, instead of being scattered throughout the book. However, the pattern-recognition "primer" (Ch. 5) used since the eighth edition will be retained and extended, based on ideas developed for the Atlas. Chapters will also include discussions of the pattern-based approach in relation to differential diagnoses. Increased attention and visibility will also be given to the book’s clinical correlations by adding related sections to each chapter. An expert clinician, Misha Rosenbach, will serve as an associate editor to ensure accuracy and currency of these sections.
